About the EMR Project

The rollout of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) on all inpatient floors at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) means that immediate, secure access to full patient medical records is a reality for our physicians.

Thanks to EMR, also known as Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM), running to medical records to retrieve an old record or calling departments for test results will be a thing of the past. A patient’s history, test results and medical images will now be available for physicians to see anytime, anywhere.

EMR has already proven to be an asset at FSLH, contributing to improved quality and efficiency in Adirondack Community Physicians offices, as well as outpatient dialysis and inpatient rehabilitation at the Faxton Campus.

What to Expect

It is natural to have reservations about the transition to EMR and how it will affect workflow throughout the organization. As with any new software, issues will arise during the initial launch that will need to be addressed. However, EMR is unique in that it is a dynamic tool that will continue to evolve through user suggestions and feedback.
